High Support
“High Support brings a painting and a sculptural object onto a single, wall-mounted support. A slim timber structure cuts across and down the wall, acting at once as bracket, shelf and line drawing in space. On one side it carries a brightly painted panel; on the other, a small, weighty object rests on a coloured plane, separated by a thin vertical fin. The work plays with balance and dependence – how one element holds up another – and with the way display furniture, usually invisible, can become an active part of the composition.”
